The resource centre, located at the end of the entrance corridor to the Synagogue, contains resources ideally suited for the youth, their leaders, teachers and parents. All members of the community can also access it. The centre has only recently been set up, with new resources being added all the time. It already includes a computer with software, audio tapes and player, books and publications, as well as information packs on different subjects. Internet access is also available. The centre is supported by UJIA, with resources being provided and shared with UJIA's Glasgow Resource Centre.
Access to the resource centre can be obtained whenever the Synagogue building is open.
The resources can be used for situations such as the following:
-
Children's project work (for example for Bar Mitzvah and senior exams),
-
Student research,
-
Young adults to continue or renew their knowledge of Jewish life and history and understanding in the early stages of independent living away from the nurturing environment of a Jewish home,
-
Parents wishing to help children with their Cheder work in Hebrew, Jewish knowledge and Israel.
Up to date material to support Cheder teachers and youth leaders in their work.
The materials here supplement the Cosgrove Library, which is located in the Succah.
