Elul Program 5768 - September 2008
Your Gateway to Jewish Literacy
Jewish Learning is Fun
Learning is for everyone: young and old, experts and beginners. We all can be Jewish scholars, part of a 3000 year old tradition. Whether we want to start at the beginning, delve into the world of the Talmud or learn how to do something new, Jewish Edinburgh Learns, can make it happen. Everything you wanted to know you can find out, and lots more besides. All in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. So why not try us? You'll never know if you never learn.
How and Why?
We often have many questions about being Jewish. They can be easily divided into two: How and Why. How do I..? is a common refrain we hear about everything from keeping kosher to putting on tefilin. People also ask deeper questions about why we do things and what is their meaning. We aims to answer both sets of questions with classes on practical Judaism and lectures seeking to answer the deeper questions. Whether you're practical, mystical or both, we have something for you.
