10.25-11.55:    INTRODUCTION TO THE SERVICE

A crash course in the synagogue service; helping you to find your way when you come to shule.

SUNDAYS: (not 02/12, 16/12, 23/12, 30/12).

11.30-12.30:    BASIC TALMUD

A simple look at the most important text in Judaism, after the Bible. We will study the Tractate of Megillah; dealing with Purim and the Torah Reading. The text will be translated and explained in a easily understood manner.

Sunday courses take place in the Jewish Community Centre in Salisbury Rd

20.00-21.00    TOPICAL TALMUD (at the Rabbi's)

A look at topical issues from a textual perspective, studying the sources from the Torah and Talmud to modern day scholars.

JEWISH PHILOSOPHY DISCUSSION GROUP

A look at basic issues in Jewish philosophy, (i.e freewill, secularism, evil), through the medium of discussion over coffee and cake.  Followed by Havdalah.
