For 7 May 2010, Parshat Behar - Behukotai, Shabbat enters at 8.48 pm, and departs at 10.12 pm.  The Friday Evening service is at 8.00pm, and the Shabbat morning service is at 10.00 am.

During the summer months, candles should preferably be lit at the time the synagogue brings in Shabbat, approximately 8.25 pm.

This week the Seudah and Discussion Group starts at 8.30 pm. The topic is "The Land is Mine? - Judaism and Socialism". This will take place at the Rabbi's house.

Shacharit - Sunday Mornings: Shacharit on a Sunday morning starts at 9.00 am and is usually followed by breakfast. Please make every effort to attend this Service.

Rabbi Rose has now prepared a series of Adult Education Sessions on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Cakes:

  •  All cakes made by Falko are permitted and milky.

  • The Danish pastries ect.. are not permitted.

Ice-cream: Falko’s ice-cream sold in the shop in Gullane is permitted and milky.

Kalpna Restaurant - The Kalpna Restaurant has been checked by Rabbi Rose and found to be a totally vegetarian establishment, using only raw ingredients, with all food items being made on the premises.  Rabbi Rose deems it permissible to eat there.  2/3 St Patricks Square, Edinburgh; Tel 0131 667 9890

Mark's Deli stocks a range of deli products, fresh and frozen meat, plus freshly made goods from Simcha Catering. The shop phone numbers are 0141 632 0998 and 0141 632 6091, and he regularly delivers to the Shul at 7.30pm every fortnight on Thursdays.  Mark has opened his new Deli on Burnfield Road, Giffnock (0141 638 8947).   Next delivery 18th March.
