Founded in the 1970’s as an offshoot of the Ladies Guild, the “Lunch Club” has a social as well as functional purpose, whereby senior members of the community can enjoy each other’s company over lunch. The club meets on Thursdays in the Community Centre.
The meals are freshly prepared in the kitchen by a team of volunteer cooks and at 12.30 p.m. the members assist in serving.
Membership fees are paid once a year and thereafter there is a modest charge for each meal.
New members (age 60+) are always welcome, as are volunteer cooks.
